Job Overview

To support our ambitious growth plans, we are currently looking to recruit a MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR to take ownership of expanding our reach, with a specific focus on the Russian market. We envision the creation and implementation of cross-channel marketing campaigns, as well as attending exhibitions, trade shows, create special events and road shows.

We expect the work to be fast paced, and as a member of the executive team you will have real decision-making capabilities, responsibility towards the company bottom line, and full ownership of the corporate brand and image. You are expected to show high levels of creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and making small budgets go far.

This is a very hands-on, high-profile role, and we are looking for someone who is extremely talented when it comes to PR, Marketing, and event organising. Position Responsibilities:

Marketing and public relations

  • Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of:
    • a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the Business’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications;
    • all Business marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, client acquisition and so forth;
    • Exhibition and trade show participation, specifically in Moscow and St. Petersburg;
    • Comprehensive “road-show” visiting major business centres in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
  • Ensure articulation of Business’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the Business, and assure communication of image and position to all clients, both internal and external.
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all Business publications.
  • Coordinate media interest in the Business and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
  • Act as the Business’s representative with the media.
  • Coordinate the appearance of all Business print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
  • Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to communicate and position our activities.
  • Ensure that the Business regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends.
  • Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.

Planning and budgeting

  • Responsible for the achievement of marketing/communications/public relations mission, goals and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the Management Team and Board.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
  • Recommend short- and long-term Business goals and objectives to the Management Team.
  • Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of  the  marketing/communications/public relations  function.
  • Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations, and use this information to help the Business operate with initiative and innovation.

Business strategy

  • Work with senior staff, other staff and volunteers to:
    • develop and maintain a strategic perspective -- based on marketplace and client needs and satisfaction -- in Business direction, program and services, and decision-making;
    • ensure the overall health and vitality of the Business.
  • Help make sure that the Business’s philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced throughout the Business.
  • Develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from the Business’s key clients regarding the quality of programs and services and the Business’s relevance.
  • Help formulate and administer policies to ensure the integrity of the Business.
  • Act as an internal consultant to bring attention and solutions to institutional priorities.

Managing

  • Maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel
  • Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote and guide qualified personnel
  • Ensure effective management within the marketing, communications and public relations function, with provision for succession.
  • Design, support and oversee cross-functional teams throughout the Business.
  • Effectively enable staff so they can take action on behalf of the Business by:
    • transmitting the Business’s values, vision and direction;
    • respecting and using the skills, expertise, experience and insights of people;
    • providing direction and resources, removing barriers and helping develop people’s skills; articulating expectations and clarifying roles and relationships;
    • communicating which includes helping people transform information into knowledge and learning;
    • encouraging people to question Business assumptions and ask strategic questions;
    • ensuring quality decision-making;
    • anticipating conflicts and facilitating resolution;
    • engaging people in process as well as tasks; encouraging people use their power, practice their authority, and accept their responsibility;
    • modelling behaviour;
    • coaching people to success.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success;
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the organisation of events and exhibitions with demonstrated success;
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working at a senior management/executive level;
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, Business and personal sales skills;
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel;
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media;
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications;
  • Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout;
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams;
  • Strong oral and written communications skills in English and Russian;
    • If not a native English Speaker: Advanced English certificate, including Business English;
    • If not a native Russian Speaker: Advanced Russian certificate, including Business Russian;
  • Previous experience working in a Cypriot or Greek business is desirable;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time;
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relation;
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 and ISO27001 framework is desirable;
